Later on, in Rottenburg hospital, Rothman interrogated Hermann Karnau, a police guard in Hitler's bunker, to establish information about the Fuhrer's final moments. About the Author
Herman Rothman was born in Berlin in 1924 but fled to Britain in 1940 as a Jewish refugee. He enlisted in the British Forces later in the war and was then seconded to the No.3 Counter-Intelligence Corps. After studying a degree in history he worked as an economist and a trust lawyer before his retirement. Helen Fry has written and edited more than 20 books, specializing in works about World War II.

About the Author

Karen Katz has written and illustrated many books for children, including The Colors of Us, Can You Say Peace?, My First Kwanzaa, Counting Kisses, and Where Is Baby's Belly Button? Long inspired by folk art from around the world, she wrote her first book, Over the Moon, when she and her husband adopted their daughter from Guatemala, and she wanted to tell the story of welcoming Lena into their lives. Katz loves to paint and experiment with texture, color, collage and pattern. Besides an author and illustrator, she has been a costume designer, quilt maker, fabric artist and graphic designer. Katz and her family divide their time between New York City and Saugerties, New York.

Beautiful and Accurate Book

I was so psyched when I found out that one of my kid's favorite authors had done a book on Ramadan. (Thank you Karen Katz!) I was even more excited when I received the book. The illustrations are wonderful and whimsical. Ms. Katz has done an excellent job portraying life for a typical Muslim child. I especially enjoyed how she represented how multicultural a typical mosque in the US is. That's one of the wonderful things about being Muslim in the US--you are reminded every day that Muslims are not just of Arab origin. :) I know this will become a family favorite. Too bad it isn't on sturdy board stock like our other favorite Katz books. :)

Great for little kids

My son received this book as a gift during Ramadan, when he was only 2 years old. He'd been watching his parents fast, so it was a great way to explain what was happening, and to relate with our family. He loved it so much and it helped him understand in better detail what we were doing. I liked it so much I bought a copy for his two cousins, one 3 years old and one 7 years old. They liked it enough to take it to school with them - and it helped their friends understand what Ramadan was all about.

My son particularly liked the part about eating dates, eating while sitting on the floor, and praying in the mosque.

Perfectly written!

My sister gave this to me when I was pregnant with my first child. We would periodically read it to him during Ramadan and liked the book. Recently however he has begun to request it at both nap time and bed time. Not only has it helped him to recognize different terms like mosque and pray, he loves the fact that the family has a little boy and a little girl (I am pregnant with #2, who just happens to e a girl). He ADORES this book and I could not recommend it enough!!!

My other favorite thing is that the book uses the typical terms used within the religion AND includes pronunciations. This is so helpful for those who would like to read the book who are new to the religion of Islam or are reading to broaden their knowledge of religions and are not familiar with the Arabic terms (i.e. suhoor, Eid Mubarak, etc). Good job Karen Katz!

Recent favorite at our house! Turkey is Tremendous!

Let me start by saying our bookshelves are overflowing with picture books! I am certifiably a children's book addict. I'm happy to say that this one has not made it to the shelf yet because my kids keep requesting me to read it- yes everynight! I'm also happy to say that I am not tired of it yet. My kids giggle at the creative illustrations by Lee Harper and the funny & fabulous use of words by Wendy Silvano "Holy Cow Turkey!" My daughter has a birthday party today and she picked this book to give as a present which thrilled me! There is truly nothing better than giving or getting books as birthday or holiday gifts, except of course books signed by the author or illustrator :) or a book paired with a pair of pajamas!

Turkey knows that it's time for Thanksgiving and is not to keen on the idea of being the guest of honor. He escapes the barn and decides a costume will help him hide out from the farmer.

After each costume change, from horse, to cow, to Rooster, another animal tells him he still looks to much like Turkey.

Turkey then comes up with a brilliant idea in hopes of diverting everyone's attention from turkey dinner. Will it all work out?

Great book for teaching cause & effect

As a speech therapist who primarily works with 4th and 5th graders with a wide range of learning disabilities, I thought this book was the perfect way to target cause and effect relationships with my students. My students were highly motivated by the kindle app format and overall they thought the book was very funny. Also, there are a number of free resources on Teacher Pay Teachers that coincide with this story which is always a huge plus for any frugal educator.

About the Author
Rinda Blom PhD is a part-time senior lecturer in social work at the University of the Free State in South Africa and is also a Company Director for the Foundation for the Development of Emotional Intelligence in Children (WiseChild). Since studying Social Work and Gestalt Play Therapy at the University of the Free State and the University of Pretoria she has worked in private practice specialising in child therapy and parental guidance. She has studied Gestalt play therapy in the USA under its founder Dr Violet Oaklander and now runs her own short courses in South Africa on emotional intelligence, parental guidance and play therapy.

Handbook of Gestalt Play Therapy

This is a good educational book that offers many Gestalt techniques for play therapists. It works through assessment to on going therapy to closure. It is clear consice and easy reading. I wished it had more techniques for on-going therapy that were specific instead of a general overal technique. The first chapter is very technical and theory oriented, but the following chapters explain the techniques and make the theory clearer.

Overall it was a very good and useful book.

Disappointing. Lazy. Incomplete.

I was really looking forward to getting this book. Navigating the admission requirements for veterinary schools has been difficult. Unlike other professional programs, each veterinary school has different requirements. For some schools this just means additional courses must be taken. For others it may mean that specific courses must have specific prerequisites in order to satisfy the school's requirements or must be taken at a 4 year university as opposed to a community college. Sadly, this guide does not always notify the user of these vital subtleties.

For example, the guide only notes 3 things for the University of Illinois under "Prerequisites for Admission." These include 8 hours of biological science, 16 hours of chemical science, and 8 hours of physics. Head to U of I's website and you see that biochemistry is a required course and the only qualifying course is one that has organic chemistry as a prerequisite. A slew of profiles for other schools also fail to note this. Not all undergraduate universities (including mine) offer biochemistry with an organic prerequisite. Someone relying on this guide could be forced to retake biochemistry in order to fulfill this requirement because they simply did not know about it.

The book is also completely inconsistent with its break down of required courses. For example, the guide lists out each course requirement completely for some schools, noting that some must be taken at 4 year universities etc. while others simply direct you to the school's website! Really? What was the purpose of purchasing a book on veterinary school requirements if you are just going to direct me to the school's website?!

Again, some schools list some information on previous entering classes including average GPA, science GPA, and GRE scores while others list nothing. It is quite frustrating and unhelpful.

Sadly, this book has proven to be a huge disappointment. Until the authors step up their game or a competing publication comes around I strongly suggest sticking to the old way of doing things.

I'm finishing up my bachelors degree and had no idea about any schools for a DVM. Getting this book has been a lifesaver. It has every school in the country plus some and tells you exactly what is required for applying to those schools. It's a great book for people seriously looking into veterinary school. Glad I found it.

I Surrender.......

Loved the book. I dont cry reading books often but this one did that for me and in a good way. Sorry to see the trilogy end. Each book is a stand alone and have HEA endings. Reading in order only helps each book come together. Love getting a peak into everyones life that reappear. Everyone has ups and downs in life and no matter how hard your life is or if you had an easy upbringing like the heroine had there is always the need to prove yourself to someone and this book does a great job overcoming their obstacles, plus hot sexy cowboys and menage you cant go wrong.

Just finished reading this awesomely wonderful story. Once I started I could not but it down until I was finished.
Claudia, Mack and Ryker.....*happy sigh*
This is just a feel good kind of read that leaves you with a smile on your face. I loved the fact that the characters from the first 2 books made an appearance. Good thing to because our heroine and her men needed some guidance.
If I have one complaint it was that I wanted more but as I have stated in my other reviews that is my issue, I am just greedy that way...haha!!
All of 3 of these books are truly wonderful and I have no problem reading again and again. Thank you Ms. Lori for an awesome trilogy. I would not at all object to a novella later just to see how my favorite people are doing....*wink*

An Awesome Read!

I really enjoyed reading book three in the Surrender Trilogy, all about Mack & Ryker Thompson who are brothers & Claudia Schmidt who is trying to turn Stone River into a small upscale suburb of Austin, Texas by building luxury mini-mansions. Mack runs into Claudia at the Garden Hut, she's contemplating which bug spray to buy to rid her rose bush of the little buggers that have infested it. He gives her advice, and then ask's her out on a date for that night, at the local bar in town. The author did a great job on telling a story, and the characters really cultivated it and sold said story. Read this book, it will make you laugh, make you mad and will make you cum a bit! Both of the brothers are stubborn and obtuse, but they have certainly met their match with Claudia, since she is exactly just like them with the same attributes. I just hope the author writes another story about Stone River so we can see how things work out with all the different families. Enjoy reading this book, but make sure you read the first two books first, and then,sit back and enjoy getting wet and laughing!

Don't believe me? Google it and see for yourselves. That's how I found it and purchased a copy for my daughter. It's BRAND NEW, exactly the same book with exactly the same illustrations. The only way you should be paying these prices is if you can get a verified, signed copy. Otherwise these sellers are playing you for suckers. Do your research.

Great Book

When reading this book, it seemed very symbolic and very much realistic. Wentz writes about a child that is invisible in the realm of many and it hits so close to home. Many children out there feel that way, and this book puts it in some very intriguing terms. I love the book and recommend it to everybody.

About the Author
Dr. Newton is currently the Director of the Neuro-Oncology Program at the Wallace Kettering Neuroscience Institute, Kettering Medical Center, and Kettering Cancer Center. He recently retired as a Professor of Neurology, Neurosurgery, & Oncology at the Wexner Medical Center at Ohio State University and the James Cancer Hospital, and was the holder of the Esther Dardinger Endowed Chair in Neuro-Oncology. He trained in Neuro-Oncology with Drs. Jerome Posner and William Shapiro at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City, and since then has been in academic Neuro-Oncology for over 20 years. He has published more than 200 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, and is the Chief Editor or Co-Editor of seven textbooks in the field of Neurology and Neuro-Oncology. In addition, he has been listed as a Best Doctor (Neurology) and Top Doctor for Cancer (Neuro-Oncology) for the past 15 years.
